Shiva Natarajan is the founder of several popular Indian restaurants in New York City. He has been in this hospitality business for the past eighteen years. Dhaba, Chola, Chote Nawab, Kokum, Malai Marke and Haldi are a few of those highly rated restaurants. Through his restaurants, Shiva showcased indian food from several regions of india like Calcutta, Kerala, Chennai, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Punjab. Haldi is famous for kebab and classic dishes from Calcutta & Tangra-Chinese.
Shiva Natarajan has also opened the several successful Thai restaurants in CT; His Little Thai Kitchen restaurants were awarded two stars by NY Times. He also opened a Mexican restaurant called Vega, in Westchester NY, which was also given two stars by NY Times.
His restaurants have been highly acclaimed by Zagat, New York Times, NY magazine, Time Out and Gourmet magazine. TV Channels including ABC, NBC, FOX, and the Martha Stewart show have featured Shiva Natarajan and his restaurants.
In year 2015, Shiva Natarajan sold his restaurants in NYC to Michelin star chef Hemant Mathur to write a cookbook and start a brand of his own sauces.
